EXCEPTIONAL FINE JEWELRY AND JADEITE LUXEFORD
RESULTS OF THE NOVEMBER 2012 FINE JEWELS AUCTION

Luxeford had its debut Fine Jewels Auction in November 2012, attracting many buyers and trade interest and the result was highly promising.

Amongst the diversified collection sold, the important pair of Natural Pearl Ear Pendants sold at HK$2,400,000, and the two rows of Natural Pearl and Diamond Necklace, measuring from4.00 to 9.50mm was sold at HK$1,440,000 to an anonymous bidder against strong competition.Natural pearls are extremely difficult to come by nowadays, and demands in the market remains strong and competitive in South East Asia.

Another key highlight included lot 206, a pair of Oval-Cut Diamond Ear Studs, the magnificent pair weighing at 4.06 and 4.51 carats, both are D color and VS1, VS2 was sold for HK$2,700,000. Another piece attractingfiercely competition was the set of Lavender Jadeite Jewelry sold for HK$600,000. Jadeite has always been a timeless classic, and its escalating demand in the market is undeniable.

Other outstanding results are as follows:
Lot 94, a set of intense emerald green Jadeite and Diamond Jewelry, a necklace and earrings of jadeite Huaigu selling for HK$252,000 which was five times higher than the low estimate of HK$50.000

Lot 98 a Jadeite and Gold Necklace by Carvin French, a famous jeweler, sold for HK$192,000 which was more than doublethe low estimate.

Edmond Chan, the Head of Jewelry Asia at Luxeford:In May 2012 Luxeford Auction house moved on to the Hong Kong auction scene, after our initial success we are proud to announce our upcoming Fine Jewels Sale to be held at the Luxurious Renaissance Harbour View hotel in Hong Kong. Bringing together the finestand most elegant Jewels from around the world, our collection of the most beautiful premiere Jewels includes:

A magnificent Pear-shaped Diamond Pendant of 10.12 carats E VVS1, valued at an estimated HK$7,200,000.

An important collection of various-cuts ofvery fine quality diamond pairs – Round, Oval and Step-cut, the highlight of this fine collection rests on a pair of unmounted Pear-shaped D-IF, Type IIa diamonds; and a pair of Heart-Shaped Diamond Ear Studs, 5.07 and 5.58 carat D VS1 and E VVS1 clarity, with an estimated valued of HK$5,600,000. Pairs of either kind have been seen very rarely in auctions recently.

A stunning pair of natural pearl drop earrings with an estimated value of HK$2,800,000: Because of the rare nature of natural pearl drops, only a few can be selected to become matching pairs, measuring 10.41 x 10.56 x 18.73mm and 10.30 x 10.50 x 17.84mm; a connoisseur would never pass-up an opportunity to bid for these precious items.

The astute collector will be drawn to a particularly good, important Colombian Emerald and diamond Ring. The untreated step-cut 6.55 carat Emerald is valued at HK$1,300,000.

Circa 1915, from a dynamic century, a Natural Pearl, Onyx and Diamond Tiara, valued at HK$400,000; of Hellenistic-bandeau style, in very good condition and carrying a grace and serenity that contrasts with modern times.

A high dome Mexican white Opal and Diamond Ring weighing 24.37 carats with lovely play of color, which has an estimated value of HK$400,000.

Our Eastern Jewels and Jadeites are just as impressive. Auspicious imagery, craftsmanship and beautiful design, are associated with an Important Jadeite and Diamond Pendant. A plaque of vivid emerald green, with bats, coins and ling-zhi for fortune and longevity and a magpie and plum-blossom for happiness, carved in exquisite detail. This piece is a must for the jadeite collector with color, translucency and thickness to make it truly desirable. It measures 45.55 x 21.90 x 7.32 mm and has an estimated value of HK$2,200,000.

Ancient style meets modern chic in a Jadeite Bead Necklace of beautiful bright green jadeite, rich red rubies and stylish black onyx; accented with occasional diamond settings. This impressive 114.67 cm long necklace has an estimated value of HK$ 1,800,000.

A sweet colored oval-shaped cabochon Jadeite and Diamond Ring, in amazing royal green color, the cabochon measures 21.05 x 14.70 x 4.50 mm and the piece has an estimated value of HK$1,350,000.

A fine-looking piece in this auction is an Important Jadeite Dragon Pendant,depicting a sinuous splendid dragon round a large fireball-pearl of fine carving.This piece of beautiful icy jadeite is suffused with subtle lavender hue and its translucency is of crystalline clarity. It measures 55.25 x 55.78 x 12.28 mm and its estimated value is HK$1,200,000.
