Eastern Dragons are associated with virtues as well as power and as benevolent creatures. The Eastern Dragon does not have the same associations that go with Western Dragons. There are many interpretations of the dragon myths, Dragons that live under the sea, as the son of heaven, the Kings among people, good and wise… The five-clawed Chinese dragon is the keeper of the flaming pearl. In tradition, the pearl denoted the greatest wealth a person could obtain, the ‘pearl of wisdom’. The Dragon chasing the pearl can represent a dynamic search for wisdom.
