Lot 680:
Comprising five celadon jade plaques, each motif well-carved in shallow relief on both sides:
a) A jade plaque of the musical instrument ‘Qing’ is carved with ‘Lingzhi’ on top, signifying intelligence, joined by an angular loop;
b) The long flattened plaque is in the shape of an archaic bell, surmounted by a prominent dragon trailing its long and curly ‘Lingzhi’ along the narrow sides, symbolizing power and intelligence;
c) The chevron-shaped plaque of the musical instrument ‘Qing’ is pierced with two fish, joined by an auspicious bat ‘Fu’ to the bottom, and a border of ancient design around the edges, bearing the rebuses of good fortune and double happiness;
d) An openwork carved jade disc, surrounded with ‘Lingzhi’ details, with Phoenix the King of Birds to the top, representing brilliance, prosperity and good fortune;
e) The carved jade plaque is formed in two openwork sections, centering upon an auspicious bat ‘Fu’ with two-circular motifs, another section with rotating central components, signifying prosperity, longevity, good health and tranquility (5)
