Much like the reflection of sparkling seawater under the sun, Paraíba tourmalines’ neon blues and greens electrify the world, when Heitor Dimas Barbosa introduces the gem in the late 1980s. The gem is first discovered in Mina da Batalha, a mine locates in Paraíba, northeast of Brazil. As one of the most popular gemstones, it is widely known that tourmaline can come in rainbow hue colors, yet none matches the distinguish saturation and vividness of the Paraíba variety. Its extraordinary color ranges from an exotic bluish green to green-blue and violet. Paraíba tourmaline owes its vibrant color to copper. Sometimes, the gem contains so much copper that pure copper metal highlights the stone’s interior.

Lot 2101, showcases a stunning 2.20 carats Paraíba tourmaline and diamond ring by Tiffany & Co. The ring exhibits strikingly vivid green-blue color with a radiant glow that illuminates the stone from within, along with its immaculate clarity and absent of thermal treatment further emphasizes the beauty of this lot.
