Before the auction begins, you can complete the registration process in person at the sale location or email us a government-issued proof of photo-identity card or passport in order to create an account to bid. Proof of your current address such as a bank reference, utility bill, phone bill, credit card, bank statement, business registration may also be required.
You can browse our e-catalogue on Luxeford website or purchase our print catalogue from a catalogue subscription to find out what’s for sale. Pre-auction viewings are open to the public and free of charge. You may also request for our condition report.
Pre-sale estimates are intended as a guide for prospective buyers. The pre-sale estimates printed in the auction catalogue and e-catalogue do not include the buyer’s premium. Luxeford charges a premium to the buyer on the final bid price of each lot sold at the following rates: The buyer’s premium is 20% of the first HK$4,000,000 of the hammer price of each lot, plus 12% of any amount in excess of HK$4,000,000. Luxeford offers all property for sale at auction “as is,” meaning that the property is sold with all existing faults and imperfections. We encourage potential buyers to inspect each item carefully before bidding.
BIDDING AT AUCTION
Bids may be executed in person by Paddle during the auction; by Absentee bid in writing 24 hours prior to the sale; by Telephone and Safety bids you must submit the form 24 hours prior to the sale.
AFTER THE AUCTION
Final Payment is due in HK Dollars immediately 7 days after the sale, which includes the hammer price and the buyer’s premium.
It is the buyer’s responsibility to pick up purchases or make all delivery or shipping arrangements. We recommend buyers request an estimate for shipping any items or property. Please note that insurance is also available at the time of collection of property.
The auction is governed by the Conditions of Business for Sellers and Buyers and the Authenticity Guarantee, printed in the catalogue. These apply to all aspects of the relationship between Luxeford and actual and prospective bidders and buyers. Anyone considering bidding in the auction should read them carefully. They may be amended by way of notices posted in the saleroom or by way of announcement made by the auctioneer.
